01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Shusen welcomes night owls with ice-free Kobe highballs made with sub-zero chilled whisky alongside carefully blended tea highballs. The drink list features distinctive selections such as the Getto Black Tea High, marrying Japanese black tea with shell ginger leaves from Ishigaki Island, and the fragrant Elderflower Sour with its light, lingering sweetness.
Thoughtful Drinking Fare Highlighting Ingredients
The drinking fare designed to accompany the drinks is crafted with equal care. Red shrimp steeped in dashi is a beloved signature, offering plump, tender whole prawns down to the rich, flavorful tomalley in the heads. For fried dishes, the fresh shio-koji fried chicken is seasoned solely with fresh shio-koji and white dashi, then coated in a blend of 3 different flours for a remarkably juicy, satisfying bite. Those looking for a substantial meal can turn to the hearty Shusen Keema Curry, simmered without added water using only the moisture of vegetables and red wine, then finished with seared grated cheese and an egg yolk.
A Late-Night Haven for Any Occasion
Operating Monday through Saturday from 18:00 until 2:00 the following morning (closed on Sundays), the venue serves as a comfortable neighborhood perch in the night. It accommodates casual solo drinks at the counter, gatherings around table seating or in a private room, and late-night drop-ins for house-made ice cream to cap off the night at an after-party stop.
